Il y a 2 solutions pour faire brûler le Thiouraye ; la méthode " moderne " (plus pratique pour les occidentaux) ou la méthode traditionnelle dite " ancestrale " (authentique mais qui demande un peu plus de préparatifs).

• La méthode " moderne " consiste à faire brûler une pastille de charbon (charbon pour Narghilé par exemple) dans un brûleur d' encens ; que vous pourrez également trouver chez Perles d'Afrique.

  Lorsque le charbon n'est plus ardent, mais encore chaud, déposez un peu de thiouraye par dessus qui, par la chaleur, exhalera tout son parfum.

• La méthode " ancestrale " consiste à utiliser un «  Ande » traditionnel (poterie africaine faite en terre cuite). Ce dernier est rempli de cendres. Déposez-y quelques morceaux de braise incandescente, recouvrez de cendres puis mettez une noisette de thiouraye par dessus.

• Le thiouraye peut également être utilisé froid en pot-pourri.
